Bathroom & Cloakroom Renovations

Whether you're updating a tired bathroom, replacing an outdated cloakroom or completely redesigning the space, I can carry out all aspects of the plumbing installation and coordinate the work required to transform your room.

Every renovation project is different, so I provide a tailored quotation based on your requirements, the products being installed and the amount of plumbing work involved.

What's Involved?

Every project begins with a discussion about your requirements and an assessment of the existing plumbing.

Depending on the scope of the renovation, the work may include:

Removal

  • Disconnecting and removing existing fixtures
  • Safe isolation of water supplies
  • Removal of old pipework where required

First Fix Plumbing

  • Altering hot and cold water supplies
  • Repositioning waste pipes
  • Installing new pipework for relocated fixtures
  • Preparing plumbing for baths, showers, toilets and basins

Second Fix Plumbing

  • Installing sanitaryware
  • Connecting taps and mixers
  • Fitting shower valves and shower heads
  • Installing toilets and basin units
  • Testing all pipework and fittings
  • Checking for leaks and correct operation

Final Testing

Before completion, all fixtures are thoroughly tested to ensure everything is working correctly and leak-free.

Bathroom Renovation Timescales

The time required depends on the size of the room and the amount of alteration needed.

Cloakroom Refresh

Replacing a toilet and basin in existing positions may take:

1–2 days

Standard Bathroom Update

Replacing a bath, basin, toilet and taps in roughly the same locations typically takes:

2–5 days

Bathroom Reconfiguration

Moving fixtures, altering pipework and carrying out significant plumbing modifications can take:

5–10 days or more

Timescales may vary depending on the condition of existing plumbing, product availability and any additional trades involved.

Why Renovations Sometimes Take Longer

Occasionally, hidden issues are discovered once existing fixtures are removed, such as:

  • Corroded pipework
  • Poor previous installations
  • Damaged flooring
  • Inadequate waste pipe falls
  • Non-compliant plumbing arrangements
  • Difficult access to existing services

Where issues are found, I will discuss the options with you before carrying out any additional work.

How Are Renovation Projects Quoted?

Because every bathroom and cloakroom renovation is unique, I provide a detailed quotation based on:

  • The size of the room
  • The fixtures being installed
  • Whether pipework needs relocating
  • Access requirements
  • The condition of existing plumbing
  • The overall scope of the project

This ensures you receive a quotation tailored to your project rather than a generic estimate.

What Can I do?

I can undertake:

  • Removal of existing sanitaryware
  • Bath installation and replacement
  • Shower installation and replacement
  • Toilet installation
  • Basin and vanity unit installation
  • Heated towel rail installation
  • Pipework alterations
  • Concealed plumbing pipework
  • New taps and mixers
  • Waste pipe installation
  • Bathroom furniture installation
  • Water supply modifications
  • Radiator replacement and relocation
  • Cloakroom installations
  • Wall/shower panel installation
  • Plumbing for complete bathroom refurbishments

If your project requires specialist trades such as tiling, I can advise you at the quotation stage so you can arrange the necessary contractors.
