My normal working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 3pm. I am a father to 2 children first and foremost, so I schedule my work to accommodate school runs and school holidays. I usually work fewer hours on Fridays, as I need time to do the boring admin stuff.
The first hour is always £75, even if the job takes less than an hour.
For example, if a job to unblock a sink takes 25 minutes, then the cost would still be £75. This is to cover travel costs and my time.
For example, if a job to fix a leaking tap takes 1 hour and 18 minutes, then the cost would be £97.50. This is £75 for the first hour plus £22.50 for the remaining time (0.3 of £75).
For example, if a job to move a radiator takes 2 and a half hours, then the cost would be £225 (£75 x 3hrs).
Sometimes, and depending on the job, I will come out on weekends between 9am and 1pm, or, for emergencies only, on evenings after 8pm. During these times, I will only take on jobs that last no longer than 2 hours, and I charge double time. I will not come out past 10pm - I need my beauty sleep.
For example, if an emergency evening job to unblock a sink takes 25 minutes, then the cost would be £150.
For example, if a weekend job to fix a leaking tap takes 1 hour and 18 minutes, then the cost would be £195. This is £150 for the first hour, plus £45 for the remaining time (0.3 of £150).
All prices set out above exclude parts. Parts will be detailed on the invoice once the job is completed, and you will be advised of the cost in advance. I am happy to install items that you supply as long as they are good quality and comply with regulations.
